Masked intruders armed with hammers broke into Harry Redknapp’s £5 million Dorset mansion while he and his wife Sandra were away, stealing valuable jewellery and luxury items in what police believe was a premeditated burglary. The property, located near the exclusive Sandbanks area, had reportedly been listed on Rightmove, raising concerns that the criminals may have used the online listing to plan the raid.

The burglary occurred last Friday evening while the 78-year-old former Premier League manager and his wife were away, Redknapp reportedly attended an event, and Sandra was in London. The gang forced their way through the front door using lump hammers and a sledgehammer, then ransacked the detached property, which is under CCTV surveillance.

A family source described the burglary as “clearly organised,” suggesting the criminals had prior knowledge of the layout and occupants’ movements. “The raiders were all masked up… They used heavy tools to smash through the entrance and were seen on CCTV searching the property,” the source said.

Dorset Police confirmed they received a report of a break-in at the Poole address and launched an investigation. Officers attended and carried out enquiries at the property. An investigation is underway into the incident. No arrests have been made at this time,” a spokesperson stated.

There is growing speculation that the gang may have exploited details from the property’s online advertisement to map out their approach. A similar attempted burglary occurred in May at the home of interior designer Celia Sawyer, also believed to be on the market and advertised online.

The Redknapps’ home was placed on the market while they await completion of a new waterfront villa in Sandbanks, one of the most expensive residential areas in the world per square foot. The couple previously left their prior residence in the area citing privacy concerns due to its large beach-facing windows.

Harry Redknapp, who famously managed Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Portsmouth, declined to elaborate on the burglary. A spokesperson stated: “Harry doesn’t want to make a fuss. There was no one in the house at the time, and we don’t want to comment on what was taken. It’s a matter for the police.”

Authorities are continuing to investigate the break-in and urge anyone with information to contact Dorset Police.
