Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis has put his luxury Bel Air mansion on the market for $40 million, according to property listings published this week. The sale comes as part of the NBA star’s off-season adjustments, though he remains under contract with the Lakers as of August 2025.

The 32-year-old, a 10-time NBA (National Basketball Association) All-Star, is selling his 17,254-square-foot estate located in the prestigious gated community of Bel Air Crest, a high-security enclave popular with celebrities and professional athletes. The property is listed by Jordan Cohen, a well-known Southern California luxury estate agent who has previously worked with several high-profile sports figures.

Set on 3.5 acres, the expansive mansion boasts panoramic views and offers extensive amenities aimed at high-end buyers. The estate includes eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, along with a private cinema, games room, wine cellar, gym, massage room, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The outdoor space is equally impressive, featuring a tennis court, fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, batting cage, and a wellness centre with a cold plunge pool and sauna.

Though the reason for the sale has not been confirmed, Davis’ decision appears to reflect a broader trend among professional athletes capitalising on the strong luxury real estate market in Los Angeles. The property offers both seclusion and entertainment options, positioning it well for buyers seeking privacy and lifestyle in one of the city’s most sought-after neighbourhoods.

Davis recently underwent eye surgery to repair a detached retina, an injury he reportedly sustained during the 2024–25 season. According to ESPN reporter Shams Charania, Davis played through multiple facial impacts before eventually opting for surgery earlier this month. He is expected to be fully recovered in time for the Lakers’ pre-season training camp.

During the most recent NBA season, Davis played 51 games, a number reduced by recurring injuries. Despite these setbacks, he remains a central figure in the Lakers’ long-term plans, with a player option worth $62.8 million for the 2027–28 season still on the table.

As the Lakers look to rebuild following a disappointing season, Davis’ performance and health will be closely watched by both the franchise and its supporters. Meanwhile, his Bel Air estate offers a rare opportunity for elite buyers to acquire a premier Los Angeles residence with all the trappings of celebrity living.
