Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 312,000 vehicles across the United States due to a potential safety issue involving the braking system, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The affected vehicles may experience a loss of power brake assist, which can lead to increased stopping distances and a higher risk of crashes.

The recall includes select 2025 models of the Lincoln Navigator, Ford F-150 pickup, Expedition SUV, Bronco SUV, and Ranger midsize truck. The issue centres around the Electronic Brake Booster (EBB) module, which may fail during operation, particularly while using the vehicle’s Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). A failure of this component could impair brake performance and compromise driver safety.

As part of the solution, Ford will update the EBB software either through an over-the-air (OTA) update or by service at an authorised dealership. This repair will be provided at no cost to vehicle owners.

Owners of the affected models are encouraged to contact Ford or visit the NHTSA website for more details regarding the recall and repair instructions. The automaker has not reported any accidents or injuries linked to the defect as of this announcement.
