On July 28, 2025, a confrontation at St. Pancras International Station in London involving far-right activist Tommy Robinson, legally known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, captured widespread attention after a video circulated online. In an interview with Rebel News publisher Ezra Levant in Bedfordshire, Robinson recounted the incident, claiming he acted in self-defense when a 64-year-old intoxicated man approached him aggressively. The altercation, occurring around 8:40 p.m., left the man unconscious with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, requiring CPR and treatment at a major trauma center, as confirmed by the British Transport Police (BTP).

Robinson, 42, from Luton, Bedfordshire, was at St. Pancras distributing flyers for a free speech event when the incident took place. Social media footage showed him pacing near the injured man, shouting, “He came at me, bruv,” and telling a bystander the man had initiated the aggression. A witness alleged Robinson shouted “come at me then” before striking the man, though the video does not capture the moment of the alleged assault. Robinson immediately notified the police, and his legal team followed up the next morning, countering claims that he fled to Tenerife to evade authorities. Reports clarify he traveled to Tenerife for pre-planned work, later flew to Faro, Portugal, and returned to the UK to cooperate with law enforcement.

On August 4, Robinson was arrested at Luton Airport upon arriving from Faro, suspected of grievous bodily harm (GBH). He was released on bail until September 2, pending further inquiries. Speaking to Levant, Robinson asserted that closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage corroborates his self-defense claim, stating, “After seeing the CCTV, I know there’s not a jury in the world that would convict me.” He publicly called for the BTP to release the footage. The BTP, which oversees more than 450 CCTV cameras at St. Pancras, is reviewing the evidence but has withheld it, citing the ongoing investigation. The victim was discharged from the hospital by July 30, according to BTP statements.

The incident has fueled polarized reactions. Supporters, including posts on X, claim the confrontation was a premeditated attack on Robinson, though these allegations lack verification. Critics, citing his controversial history, have labeled him the aggressor. The BTP is appealing for witnesses, asking them to text 61016 with reference 655 of July 28. Robinson’s interview with Levant, set to be published across Rebel News platforms, offers a detailed account of the incident and his legal challenges, emphasizing his belief that the CCTV evidence will clear his name.
Robinson, a polarizing figure known for founding the English Defence League and his outspoken views on immigration, has a history of legal issues, including convictions for assault and contempt of court. The St. Pancras incident has reignited debates about his actions and public persona, with some viewing him as a defender of free speech and others as a provocateur. As the investigation continues, the unreleased CCTV footage remains a focal point, with Robinson and his supporters pressing for transparency. The case underscores ongoing tensions surrounding his activism, and the full details of the confrontation are yet to be fully clarified by authorities.
