Clooney Confident Parthenon Marbles Will Return

George Clooney has expressed confidence that the Parthenon Marbles will eventually be returned to Greece, highlighting the ongoing efforts he and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, have made in advocating for their repatriation. In an interview with the Greek daily Ta Nea, Clooney emphasized that the issue is deeply personal to both of them, referring to it as a “family” matter. Amal has been advising the Greek government since 2011 on how to reclaim the sculptures, which were taken by Lord Elgin from the Parthenon in Athens in 1802 and are currently housed in the British Museum.

Clooney reaffirmed that he and Amal will continue to push for the marbles’ return, stating, “We’ll keep pushing until it happens.
