Two men have died and another remains in hospital following a triple stabbing at a business premises near Tower Bridge in central London, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police.

The incident occurred on Monday on a narrow road in Southwark, near one of the capital’s busiest tourist areas. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 9 a.m. after receiving reports of multiple assaults inside a business property. Emergency services quickly attended, but despite their efforts, a 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, aged 27, was taken to the hospital but died a short time later.

A third man, believed to be in his 30s, is being treated in hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police have confirmed that a fourth man, also in his 30s, has been arrested in connection with the incident. He was found at the location and taken into custody, but he too remains in hospital in a critical condition under police guard. Officers believe this man was involved in the attack, though they are still working to determine the full circumstances.

Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, speaking on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), said: “Our investigation is in the early stages and we are working hard to understand the full circumstances of this shocking incident. At this point, we do not believe it to be terrorism-related, and there is no further risk to the public.”

The area surrounding Tower Bridge is typically considered low-risk regarding violent incidents, making this event particularly unusual. Police say the victims and the suspect are known to one another, and there is no suggestion of a random attack.

The motive behind the stabbings has yet to be confirmed, but detectives are believed to be focusing their enquiries on possible disputes within the workplace where the attacks unfolded. Forensic officers were seen working at the scene for several hours following the incident, and nearby businesses were asked to remain closed while the investigation progressed.

As part of their ongoing enquiries, officers are reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and speaking to witnesses in the area at the time. The incident has understandably sparked concern in the local community, although authorities quickly reassured the public.

The Metropolitan Police have appealed to anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area on Monday morning. While there is no wider threat, police presence has been increased in the vicinity as a precaution and to reassure residents and visitors alike.
