The England women’s football team will be celebrated with an open-top bus parade through central London following their triumph at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025. The event, set to take place on Tuesday, 29 July, will begin at 12:10 pm along The Mall and conclude at the Queen Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace, with a public ceremony to follow.

The Lionesses made history by becoming the first England team to win a major international tournament abroad, clinching their second consecutive European title after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Spain. Chloe Kelly scored the winning penalty, while goalkeeper Hannah Hampton delivered a standout performance that earned her Player of the Match. Michelle Agyemang was named Young Player of the Tournament.

A day before the parade, the squad was welcomed to 10 Downing Street by Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner and Sports Minister Stephanie Peacock. Prime Minister Keir Starmer also extended his congratulations, praising the team’s resilience and stating that their achievement serves as a powerful inspiration for the entire nation.

The public celebration will be hosted by former England international and broadcaster Alex Scott, with live music provided by the Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force. Fans will also be treated to tournament highlights on large screens and a trophy presentation outside the Palace.

The Football Association expects large crowds and has advised attendees to plan ahead and use public transport. Road closures will be in place around The Mall and St James’s Park to facilitate the event and ensure safety.

Speaking after the final, head coach Sarina Wiegman reflected on the wider significance of the victory, describing it as a symbol of progress and pride not only for women’s football but for sport as a whole. She said the team’s success would “inspire people” and energise a new generation of players and supporters.

The celebration is expected to draw tens of thousands of fans, marking another milestone in the growing popularity and recognition of women’s sport in the UK. As the Lionesses parade through the heart of the capital, the event will serve as both a tribute to their achievement and a statement of the sport’s continuing rise.
