Man Charged Over Alleged Rape of 12-Year-Old Girl in Nuneaton

A 23-year-old man has been formally charged with the rape of a 12-year-old girl in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The suspect, identified as Ahmad Mulakhil, was arrested on Saturday, 26 July, and charged the following day.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) authorised the charges before Mulakhil appeared before Coventry Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 July. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 26 August 2025.

The incident reportedly occurred in the Cheveral Street area of Nuneaton between 8:30 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, 22 July. Warwickshire Police have confirmed that several enquiries remain ongoing as part of the investigation and have issued a public appeal for any witnesses or relevant information.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police urged members of the public who may have been in the area at the time to assist. “If you were in or around Cheveral Street during that timeframe and saw anything suspicious or unusual, we encourage you to come forward,” the statement read.
