MLK Day Becomes Rallying Cry for Civil Rights Under Trump’s Presidency

ATLANTA — Civil rights leaders and the family of Martin Luther King Jr. marked MLK Day with a renewed call to action as President Trump’s administration takes office.

Speaking at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where King once preached, activists urged Americans to continue the fight for racial and social justice.

Bernice King, the youngest daughter of the civil rights icon, implored attendees to honor her father’s legacy through activism.

“We must not grow weary in the face of injustice,” she said. The event comes amid concerns over Trump’s policies on voting rights, police reform, and racial equity.

While Trump has pledged to promote unity, critics fear his administration may roll back key protections. Civil rights leaders vowed to remain vigilant, emphasizing the importance of grassroots movements in driving systemic change.
