Nintendo Switch 2 Stock Improves as Pokémon Bundle Boosts Demand

After weeks of tight availability, the Nintendo Switch 2 is finally seeing more consistent restocks, a promising sign that supply chains are beginning to stabilise. While demand remains high, especially following the announcement of a new Pokémon-themed bundle, major retailers on both sides of the Atlantic are gradually keeping the shelves stocked longer, suggesting that the worst of the shortages may be behind us.

Since its launch on 5 June, the Nintendo Switch 2, the latest iteration of the Japanese gaming giant’s flagship console, has struggled to remain in stock. Priced at $449 / £395 for the base model and $499 / £429 for the Mario Kart World bundle, the updated console has drawn immense interest, fuelling demand beyond expectation. Yet despite early frustrations for eager gamers, signs indicate the supply gap is beginning to close. Retail giants including Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop and Target have all received new batches over the past month, with stock lasting hours instead of minutes—a sharp improvement on launch‑day shortages.

The United Kingdom has fared particularly well, with retailers regularly replenishing stock and maintaining availability for several days at a time. Industry observers note that this pattern may reflect better coordinated European logistics or more balanced allocation strategies across regions. By contrast, American consumers are still finding it harder to secure a console, although the frequency and duration of restocks continue to increase.

Adding further momentum is the unveiling of a special Pokémon bundle, which has reignited interest among fans. However, this surge in popularity has predictably attracted opportunistic scalpers attempting to resell units online at inflated prices. Experts strongly advise against paying above the retail price, warning that further restocks are likely in the coming weeks. Tom Pritchard, a gaming journalist and long‑time stock tracker, urged caution: ‘Stick to authorised retailers. Don’t fuel the resale market when more consoles are just around the corner.’

Ultimately, for those waiting to upgrade or join the Nintendo ecosystem, the situation is improving. Regular check‑ins with trusted retailers and avoiding third‑party mark‑ups remain the best approach to securing the Nintendo Switch 2, especially as significant restocks are expected into August.
