UK Immigration Shake-Up: Tougher Rules, Higher Barriers, and a New Era of Control

The UK government, under Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, has announced a sweeping set of immigration reforms aimed at reducing net migration and addressing public concern over pressure on public services. Key among the changes is the extension of the residency requirement for indefinite leave to remain from five to ten years, along with stricter English language and integration requirements.
