US Military Leaders Advise UK to Prioritize European Defence Over Indo-Pacific Engagement

Senior US military officials have advised the United Kingdom to recalibrate its defence priorities, urging a shift from the Indo-Pacific region back to Europe. Elbridge Colby, the US Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, has expressed concerns about the UK’s planned deployment of the HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carrier to the Indo-Pacific, suggesting that European nations should assume greater responsibility for regional security, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
