A memo obtained by POLITICO outlines expectations for mid-level and senior staff attending internal sessions, including mandates to dress formally, men are specifically instructed to wear a tie, and to use pen and paper for notetaking, eschewing electronic devices.

The directive, reportedly stemming from feedback by Director-General Roberto Viola and aides to Digital Commissioner Henna Virkkunen, also advises that attendees refrain from speaking during meetings unless directly addressed.
